The books contains an uplifting story about diversity and acceptance entitled True, Colors, An Odyssey in the Sea© and related learning activities, which include word puzzles, matching, connect the dots, following directions, drawing and much more.

The books are in a shell shape, size 11”x11” with spiral binding at the top for easy handling and were created for a dual purpose. The back pages become the child’s own Drawing & Writing Journal.

The Coralville Kids™ in True Colors, An Odyssey in the Sea© CD Rom is the first in a series designed for young children ages 4-8, Preschool-3rd grades. It introduces the charming Professor Grouper and six lovable fish characters in an uplifting story about diversity and acceptance with the message “Be Proud of Who You Are and What You Do.”

The animated software is available in English or Spanish/English and combines the story with music, interactive learning activities (Spelling/Keyboarding, Math Rhyming and color Mixing) and colorful printouts.

The graphics are large and the text appears on a tinted background so that young eyes will be comfortable with the program. The story is presented entirely in rhyme and assists children in familiarizing themselves with word patterns, which develop skills for easy reading. The patterning, repetition and rhyming encourage children to predict what will happen next, thus building confidence in young readers.

The bilingual (Spanish/English) version entitled Los Amigos De Villa Coral© En Una Odisea En El Marã is designed to assist children with language learning. Children are able to switch between English and Spanish at the touch of a button to view the program entirely in Spanish or entirely in English. For school use the CD ROM is a new tool for Dual Language Programs and may also be used for Limited English Proficiency (LEP) students in English as a Second Language (ESL) and Transition Bilingual programs. It also provides English only students an opportunity to learn Spanish in a Bi-Literacy curriculum.
